Danny Hodges was raised in Hartsville, SC in a Christian home but was radically saved from a worldly lifestyle at age 19. Seeking to grow in his faith, he attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA and graduated with a degree in Youth Ministry in 1983. From there God called him to serve at a small young church in St. Petersburg, FL. Within a year he was surprisingly thrust into the role of lead pastor and shortly thereafter introduced to the fellowship of Calvary Chapels.

Danny and his wife Wendy were married in 1986. He faithfully served as senior pastor of Calvary Chapel St. Petersburg for 33 years and then started Calvary Chapel Fellowship in 2017. Founded upon Spirit-filled worship and the consistent teaching of the Word of God, the mission of the church remains the same—reaching a lost and dying world with the gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples, and entrusting that vision to the next generation.

Pastor Danny is known for his steadfast, uncompromising preaching of God’s Word. His genuine sense of realness, disarming transparency, and humorous down-to-earth style have become trademarks of this expository teacher.  Danny and Wendy have four grown children, two grandchildren, and live in St. Petersburg.
